Coal

These puppies are a repeat breeding of my C and F litters. Below is Circe, a working SAR dog, with Nike--but I realize other pictures are sadly lacking.

This is Coal--a bicolor male who I kept. He's a bicolor, and the bicolor boy(s?) (right now, I think one boy is going to look more like his mom in color and the other will be a real bicolor) in this "I" litter should look like him (at least in color!):

Nike--camera hog

Tonight, Nike felt that she really needed to be the center of attention, but I still managed to include a few puppies in the Nike portraits!

I-pictures!

2 boys, close up--a sable and a bicolor2 boys

You can almost see Nike thinking, "I love the smell of puppy heads!"

Nike and babies

Is this an i-pod of puppies?

"I" iz HERE!

Nike had 7 sons. The first was born at 8pm--a 1 pound, 2 oz boy, then 2 more, bicolors (twins!) at 9:15 and 9:30--both 15 ounces. At 10, another sable male--15 ounces. At 11:45, another sable male, 1 pound 2 ounces again.

But the last two got stuck. #6 was stillborn around 2:00; at 4:30, I felt a puppy head in the canal and decided to go to the ER vet. I got there at 5:05, saw a vet at 6 am. X-ray showed one very large pup in the canal, and we decide to try pitocin to see if that would move him far enough out the vet could help out. At 7, with much help from the vet, the last giant boy was born, and he was dead.

So, 5 boys is the final--3 sables and 2 bicolor "twins."

Now I am going to bed--Nike has already crashed in her box, nursing the babes.

I just took a couple pics, I'll upload them first, then off to bed.

Very pregnant, with Flint, on Saturday night....
